 Lorsque l'adjectif qualificatif comprend deux syllabes ou plus, il suffit de l'encadrer avec more ... than :
The plane is more comfortable than the train
but it is also more expensive than it.
- Lorsque l'adjectif qualificatif est composé d'une seule syllabe, on lui ajoute ... -er than :
Teddy's hair is darker than his brother's
and it is also shorter than it.
- Quand un adjectif de deux syllabes se termine en Y,
le Y devient ....ier than :
Exemples avec crazy, funny :
That boy is crazier than his friend
but I don't think he is funnier than him.
- Si un adjectif d'une seule syllabe brève se termine par une consonne précédée d'une voyelle, il faut doubler la consonne pour conserver le même son :
Exemple avec hot :
They are having breakfast. Mr Watson is slower than Mrs Watson because his cup of tea is hotter than her cup.
